Soil-->Soil Overview

Short description: To reap the benefits of healthy soils for people, food, nature and climate, the EU needs a renewed Soil Strategy that sets out a framework and concrete measures for protecting, restoring and sustainably using soils and that mobilises the necessary societal engagement and financial resources, shared knowledge, sustainable practices and monitoring to reach common objectives. The strategy is closely linked and works in synergy with the other EU policies stemming from the European Green Deal and will underpin our ambition for global action on soil at international level. This will only be achieved through a combination of new voluntary and legally binding measures, presented here below, developed in full respect of subsidiarity and building on existing national soil policies.
